• Mixed-Media: Sculpture and Beyond (Tuesdays, 1:00 – 4:00pm)
• Installation: Public Sculpture and Performance (Wednesdays, 1:00 – 8:00pm)
• Arts in the City: Transforming Space Through Public Art (Wednesdays, 1:00 – 8:00pm)
• JazzMosis: an Intro to Jazz and Blues (Thursdays, 1:00 – 8:00pm)
• Performance Art: Exploring Self, Space, and Audience (Thursdays, 1:00 – 8:00pm)
International House of Blues Foundation Visual Arts Workshops
The International House of Blues Foundation invites Boston Schools to join them for guided tours of the House of Blues Folk Art Collection, as well as the opportunity for students to create their own artwork! Workshops are limited and registration is handled in a first-come first-serve basis. Workshops are provided free of charge to Boston Public Schools school/youth groups (5th - 12th grades) and to other groups for a fee. Artists in Context
Mel Chin, well known American ecological artist, was in town to help launch Artists in Context. Artists in Context is a new initiative that supports contemporary artists who are working on important social issues. He is involved in a nationwide project that gathers the individual expression of students into a collective call for action. The Fundred Dollar Bill Project invites students of all ages to participate in a giant performance artwork and creative collective action to support the rebuilding of New Orleans. Learn more...
MassArt Saturday Studios
For over seventy-five years the Saturday Studios program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design has served a dual purpose: offering elementary through high school students an affordable opportunity to engage in the process of art making. Courses in a variety of disciplines and media are available by grade level, allowing students to explore and strengthen their creativity and creative problem solving. Learn more...
BPS/MFA Scholarship Program
The Arts Office is pleased to announce the opening of the 2009 BPS/MFA High School Scholarship Program. Classes will take place in both the MFA studio and in the MFA galleries. Students will receive one course credit towards high school graduation upon successful completion of the year-long course.

Allston/Brighton Arts Bridge
Free documentary film making workshop for teens. We are a newly formed non-profit community arts organization dedicated to providing quality arts experiences to the members of the Allston Brighton community, and our pilot program is a FREE teen workshop in documentary film making. With this program we aim to promote writing, story-telling and research skills, as well as technical skills in video production, film editing and sound production. We recently received a grant from the BRA and the Harvard Allston Partnership Fund to offer this program free to teens in the area of Allston Brighton. Find out more...

a variety of schools together to study, discuss, and create photography/art,

A Gallery + Studio Experience
Help your students create artwork inspired by the MFA's collections. Students
spend one hour on a Gallery Instructor-guided tour, and one hour in the
art studio. $12 per student (includes materials). Grants of up to $250
from the Bernard J. Rothwell School Bus Fund are available for schools

The Superintendent's Student Art Exhibit is a new initiative designed
to showcase the work of emerging high school student-artists in the Boston
